Visiting Rye & Hastings, BOOK NOW

Local pubs are not serving food on Sunday evening but we have other suggestions within a 15 minute drive under “For something special”.   We particularly recommend ‘Webbe’s Rock-a-Nore’

The Cove, Fairlight

Recently stylishly renovated with an exterior reminiscent of Hastings Net Huts and a large outside seating area. Situated in Fairlight Village and within walking distance from the house in good weather. The Cove serves simple seasonal food. Venison is hunted by Arthur in his woods; other meat is supplied by Jamie down the road. Fish is from the channel; salad, greens, and whatever else is in season is grown 400 yards away. The dairy is in Northiam; and the egg layers all have names. We want to let the local produce shine through, serving classic dishes with a Sussex spin.

Royal Oak, Pett

We prepare all our meals on site and source our meat, fish and vegetables from quality local suppliers. A traditional pub with oak beams and open fires along with a pub garden. A 5 minute drive from Stream House.

Queens Head, Icklesham

A very popular pub with huge fireplaces, low beams, friendly service, good food and real ales. Nominated Pub of the Year by the Telegraph. A perfect English country Pub, 10 minutes away by car. Featured in top 10 Pubs in Britain, The Good Pub Guide 2008.
